3 Options to Restore, Refinish, Renew Any Wood Floor
Dustless Wood Floor Refinishing and Repairs in Saint John, New BrunswickDo your wood floors need some love?
Memories and enjoyment over the years can cause your wood floors to look a little troubled. Hardwood floors can become an eyesore if left unchecked, but almost any wood floor can be refinished, revitalized, renewed to look like new! DustlessWood.com can help you bring your wood floors back to life without the mess of traditional wood floor refinishing equipment. Choose from three options to refinish any wood floor! WOod floor refinishing option 1: no sanding rescueThe No Sanding Rescue is a one-day sandless refinishing option designed to bring back the shine to a worn floor. Our technicians use floor buffers and scrubbers to deep clean the floor and prepare it for a coating. It can then be resealed with either a satin or semigloss gymnasium-grade, low VOC floor finish.
This process is extremely budget friendly and fast, that's what makes it so appealing. This process is typically done in a day, but is limited to surface scratches and scuffs, as no wood is sanded down. That means if your floor has deep scratches, gouges or discoloration, you should move on to option 2. WOOD floor REFINISHING OPTION 2: Dustless SANDingYes, your floors can be sanded down to bare wood and totally restored without a dusty mess. Our methods and specialized equipment mean you can have the beautiful results of a traditional sand and refinish without the mess or lingering odour.
Typically done in just 2-3 days, this process will remove deeper scratches in your hardwood floors, and correct discolouration and ambering caused by long term UV exposure. Your floor can then be resealed with a gymnasium-grade floor finish. You can choose a semigloss or satin finish. If you are having this done and want to totally transform your space with a new stained wood floor colour, choose option 3. WOOD floor REFINISHING OPTION 3: add Elegant stainWant to completely change the feel of your space? Or perhaps you need a colour matched from one room to the next.
Any wood floor that is sanded down can also be stained. The stain is applied when the wood is wide open from sanding, so your colour of choice will penetrate deep inside and bring out the richness of the wood. Choose a mid tone brown for a warm and inviting space, or go bold and dark. Grey is good and you can even go white. You can truly get what you want with this option. Rest assured any process we perform in your home will be completed using dust control equipment and low VOC finishes. options for your wood floor finishStep 1: Choose the floor finish type.
We normally recommend a gymnasium-grade low VOC (low odour) finish for every project. We have found that the added scratch resistance and durability is more than worth the difference in cost. If you need your floors done at the minimum possible price per square foot, you can ask about entry level finishes as well. Step 2: Choose the gloss level or 'sheen'. Just like when you paint your house, you choose a higher gloss when you want something to 'pop' and a lower gloss when you don't want to see as much shine. Most of our clients choose between Semi-gloss and Satin. There can also be a matte option and a high-gloss option. The biggest difference? Choose a semi-gloss finish when you want people who come to your house to notice that the floors were JUST DONE! Real estate agents love this one because that first impression will stick with a potential buyer. They really look and feel amazing. Instead, choose a satin finish when you want more of an even glow. Satin leaves room for the rest of your decor to speak for itself, and tends to show less wear over time. Need Wood Floor Repairs?Repairs to a wood floor take a little patience and know-how.
Taking out an old fireplace? Got a stain that is just too deep to sand out? Do you want to hide your old register covers? Our technicians can usually find a matching wood, either new or in the back of a closet somewhere. They can 'finger' the new boards together with the old creating a seamless repair that looks like it was part of the original plan. When the floors are sanded, everything blends together perfectly. What about a scratch in a stained floor? If it's just one deep gouge, we may be able to restore the colour without redoing the entire floor, hiding the scratch. While a repair like this may look like a repair, if the location is right and the lighting works, it can get you a good result until you have the floors redone. getting a wood floor refinishing quoteBefore you ask for a quote, you should know what you are hoping to achieve as a finished result.
